As the sole designer, I was primarily responsible for creating the company branding and website. Prior to this, Young Guns had little to no brand identity, thus I also implemented the company’s first design system. Additionally, I created a marketing plan to align cross-functional team members on goals, objectives, target market, and KPIs.

Young Guns Studio had established themselves in Vancouver as a leader in arts education. However, they relied solely on word-of-mouth referrals and maintained an outdated website which lacked critical information for prospective clients. This gap not only hindered their ability to showcase their full range of services, but also limited their potential for wider brand recognition and global leadership in arts education.
product features
Prioritizing hierarchy and CTAs
  • Positioning the CTA above the fold, seamlessly guides users towards discovering new online course offerings and helps to optimize user conversions.
Building brand image and community
  • Blog posts increases organic content on site, number of indexed pages, and can help attract new clients through long-tail keywords.
  • Staff profile page shows credibility of mentors, while also providing ample information for potential clients.
  • Highlighting company mission and history connect client to the brand through similar shared values and demonstrates the brand trustworthiness and experience in the industry.

As part of defining the marketing plan, initial research that identified our target demographic also helped to pin point the voice and style we wanted the Young Guns brand to have across all platforms.

Diving into design with this information ensured that the design decisions were grounded in deep understanding and aligned with user needs from the outset. With this understanding, I created a brand identity that resonated across all social platforms, ensuring consistency and engagement beyond the website itself.
